Sunday, January 31

It's been a couple of weeks since we provided an update, so I thought we better write something. The last two weeks have been relatively uneventful for Dad as he just rests comfortably at home. He had a couple of events requiring some nursing attention, but his Hospice nurses have been able to get him back to comfort quickly for the most part.

Mom is tired, but appreciates all of the support she is getting from family and friends. Grandma Bell (Carole's mom) and Jim (Carole's brother) both spent a week at the house with Mom, Andy and Tory are here on a near daily basis, Brian is here every weekend, and Jeff talks with dad on Skype as much as possible.

Mom and Dad celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary on Friday. Tory brought flowers for Mom at Dad's request as well as chocolate malts from Whitey's - always a big hit! We also got a To-Go order from Red Robin which Dad enjoyed along with a little bit of beer.

Dad asked me to let everyone know that he appreciates their thoughts and prayers.

  1. Congratulations on 38 years of marriage. Your loving relationship has been, and continues to be, an inspiration for many. It looks like Paul is still romancing his bride with flowers. Way to go, Paul.

Thanks for the update. I know I speak for many when I say that we care about you and continue to send our friendship and love.

  2. Paul and Carole,

Steve told Chris at work what you guys have been going through. We are so sorry. Just want you both to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will be praying for you.

  3. A belated "Happy 38th Anniversary!" greeting to you! 38 years? Pretty special! Red Robin Food and Whitey's ice cream to celebrate? That's right up our alley! Mmmmm (Brian's smoked turkey sounded really good, too, though!)

Tim & Tara were happy that they were able to see you when they were here. They probably won't be here for awhile, but when they come, they will be down again, I know.

Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of all of you from down the street. As we said before, we are here if you need us. Don't be afraid to give us a call or knock on our door - anytime.
